Over 200 children competed in 21 different categories of items like dance, music, sloka and Gita chanting, art and many other forms. A quiz competition was also held for the children. The richness of the Indian culture stood out during the whole competition and was welcomed by one and all.
The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Gayatri Raveendran, the vice principal of the Indian Community School, Amman branch. Sri. Mahadevan, the Convener of the programme welcomed the people to enjoy the competitions being held.
"The Payasam Mela' was another highlight of the Mela. Sri. Remesh, the country head of Gulf Mart supermarket inaugurated the event. Gulf Mart gave out the first prize for the best payasam. The second prize was awarded by Nellara Food Products.
The winners of the competition will be awarded on 15th January when Seva Darshan will hold its mega event BHARATH DARSHAN 2010 at the Marina Hall in Abbasiya.
