After the successful completion of its Krishnajyothi project, Seva Darshan extends its philanthropic activities to the area of education. Seva Darshan Kuwait presents the Marayoor School project bringing education to the children of the tribal areas of Marayoor, Idukki district, Kerala.
Seva Darshan Kuwait held a press conference attended by prominent media personnel from Kuwait on 29th December.The meeting was presided over by Mr. S. Mohankumar, General Convener, Bharath Darshan 2010. Mr. P. Krishnakumar, President, Seva Darshan Kuwait, Mr. Manoj Nair, Executive Committee Member, and Mr. T. G. Venugopal, Convener, Public Relation Committee were also present at the press conference.
A detailed media kit about the BHARATH DARSHAN 2010 was circulated among the media personnel.Shri. Mohankumar narrated the aim of Seva Darshan in conducting this mega event and progress of the preparations.

The preparations for the mega event to be held on January 15th, 2010 at the Marina Hall Abbasiya, is going on in full swing. The volunteers and members have received tremendous support from all cross sections of the society in Kuwait. An expected crowd of 5000 people will be visiting this daylong event to enjoy the variety of programmes that are under rehearsal. A team of IDEA Star Singer performers Somadas, Jins Gopinath, Prasobh and Amritha Global Super Star winner Roopa Revathy will perform at the mega show along with cine stars Kottayam Nazeer and Kalabhavan Prajod. A souvenir will be released during the event. The winners of the BALA KALA MELA 2009 will be awarded during the function.

Months of preparations and a great spirit of competition bore its fruits on the morning of 16th October at the Abbasiya Central School when the children of Bala Darshan assembled to compete and present to the parents, teachers and public what they have learned in the weekly Bala Darshan classes over the years.
Over 200 children competed in 21 different categories of items like dance, music, sloka and Gita chanting, art and many other forms. A quiz competition was also held for the children. The richness of the Indian culture stood out during the whole competition and was welcomed by one and all.
The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Gayatri Raveendran, the vice principal of the Indian Community School, Amman branch. Sri. Mahadevan, the Convener of the programme welcomed the people to enjoy the competitions being held.
"The Payasam Mela' was another highlight of the Mela. Sri. Remesh, the country head of Gulf Mart supermarket inaugurated the event. Gulf Mart gave out the first prize for the best payasam. The second prize was awarded by Nellara Food Products.
The winners of the competition will be awarded on 15th January when Seva Darshan will hold its mega event BHARATH DARSHAN 2010 at the Marina Hall in Abbasiya.
K.R.Roopa was born at Kuzhuppilly village in Ernakulam district. Her father N. Ramapai, an artist as well as a teacher, her mother Smt. Pushpha Latha and brother Jithu (doing MCA) have inspired her in developing her musical talents.
She is First Rank holder of Mahatma Gandhi University in both BA & MA Music. She started showing interest in music at a very tender age. Her bond with music will stay strong and help her achieve much higher goals. She started learning Karnatic music at the age of 5 under Dr. Malini Hariharan and Tamarakkadu Govindan Namboothiri. She also started learning violin when she was 7, under Sri. Sunil Bhasker and T.H.Subramaniyam. She bagged first place in classical vocal and violin in the state level youth festival from 2001 to 2005 continuously and has done independent concerts for violin.
Roopa, bagged the Amrita Superstar Global Crown, a musical talent hunt show hosted by Amrita TV. She was ruling the show with her musical brilliance and has already got a place in the hearts of world wide music lovers. We can say without doubt, she is going to be the new sensation in Indian Music!

ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയില് മൂന്നാറില് നിന്ന് 40 കിലോമീറ്റര് സഞ്ചരിച്ചാല് മറയൂരിലെത്താം. ചിന്നാര് വന്യമൃഗസംരക്ഷണ കേന്ദ്രത്തിന്റെയും കണ്ണന്ദേവന് തേയിലത്തോട്ടങ്ങളുടേയുമിടയില് ഒളിഞ്ഞിരുന്ന ഇടം.
നാലുവശവും മലകളാല് ചുറ്റപ്പെട്ട മറയൂര്. മഴനിഴല് താഴ്വര. സ്വാഭാവിക ചന്ദനമരങ്ങള്...കരിമ്പിന് തെട്ടങ്ങള്. മറയൂരിന്റെ പ്രകൃതി കണ്ടാല് കേരളത്തിലെ മറ്റു പ്രദേശങ്ങളുമായി ഒരു സാമ്യവുമില്ല.
മറയൂര് എന്നാല് മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഊര് എന്നര്ത്ഥം. ഇത് പാണ്ഡവരുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടതാണ്. വനവാസക്കാലത്ത് അവര് ഇവിടെയും വന്നിരുന്നു എന്നു പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. മഹാശിലായുഗകാലത്ത് ഇവിടെ മനുഷ്യവാസമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നതിന് തെളിവാണ് മുനിയറകളും ഗുഹാക്ഷേത്രവും ശിലാലിഖിതങ്ങളും ......
മുതുവാന്മാര് മലയുടെ ചെരുവുകളിലും മറ്റും പാര്ക്കുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും അഞ്ചുനാട്ടുകാരായ ഗ്രാമക്കാരാണ് മുമ്പെയുള്ള താമസക്കാര്.
നാലുവശവും മലകള് ഉയര്ന്നു നില്ക്കുന്ന മറയൂര്തടം. അങ്ങു ദൂരെ കാന്തല്ലൂര് മലയുടെ താഴ്വാരം വരെ നീണ്ടു പോകുന്ന വയലുകള്. കാന്തല്ലൂര് മലയുടെ നെറുകയില് അഞ്ചുനാടിന്റെ കാന്തല്ലൂര് ഗ്രാമം. പിന്നെ താഴേക്കു ചെരിഞ്ഞ് കീഴാന്തൂര് ഗ്രാമവും കാരയൂര് ഗ്രാമവും. കൊട്ടകുടി ഗ്രാമം കാന്തല്ലൂര് മലയ്ക്കപ്പുറമാണ്. മുനിയറകളാണ് മറയൂരിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രത്യേകത. മഹാശിലായുഗസംസ്ക്കാരത്തിന്റെ ബാക്കിപത്രം. അക്കാലത്തുള്ളവരെ മറവുചെയ്ത ശവക്കല്ലറകളാണെന്നും മുനിമാര് തപസ്സുചെയ്തിരുന്നിടമാണെന്നും പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. ഒരാള്ക്ക് നില്ക്കുകയും കിടക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാവുന്ന ഉയരവും നീളവുമുണ്ട് ഓരോ മുനിയറയ്ക്കും. പലതും പൊട്ടിയും അടര്ന്നും വീണു തുടങ്ങി.
മുപ്പതുമുക്കോടി ദൈവങ്ങളും അവര്ക്കൊക്കെ അമ്പലങ്ങളുമുണ്ടെങ്കിലും തെങ്കാശിനാഥന് ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ചരിത്രവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടുകിടക്കുന്നത്.
പാണ്ഡവര് വനവാസക്കാലത്ത് മറയൂരില് എത്തിയിരുന്നു എന്നും അവര് ഒറ്റക്കല്ലില് പണിതതാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം എന്നും പറയുന്നു. കോവില്ക്കടവില് പാമ്പാറിന്റെ തീരത്താണ് ക്ഷേത്രം. അവിടെ ഒരു ഗുഹാമുഖമുണ്ട്. പ്രാചീനലിപികളില് എന്തൊക്കെയോ കല്ലില് കൊത്തിവെച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
മൂന്നാറിന് സമാനമായ തണുപ്പ് മറയൂരുമുണ്ട്. എന്നാല് മഴ വളരെ കുറവാണ്. അത് പുതച്ചിക്കനാല് വഴി തടത്തെ നനക്കുന്നു. പെയ്യുന്നത് അധികവും നൂല്മഴയാണ്. വര്ഷത്തില് 50 സെന്റീമീറ്ററില് താഴെയാണ് മഴ ലഭിക്കുന്നത്. കേരളത്തില് ഇടവപ്പാതി തകര്ത്തുപെയ്യുമ്പോള് മറയൂരില് കാറ്റാണ്...ആളെപ്പോലും പറത്തിക്കളയുന്നകാറ്റ്. തുലാമഴയാണ്് കൂടുതല്.
ചരിത്രമറിയേണ്ടവര്ക്ക് അഞ്ചുനാടുകളില് പോകാം. അവരുടെ ആഘോഷങ്ങളും ആചാരങ്ങളും കാണാം. പങ്കുചേരാം...കേരളത്തില് കിഴക്കോട്ടൊഴുകുന്ന മൂന്ന് പുഴകളിലൊന്നായ പാമ്പാര് മറയൂര് താഴ്വരയിലൂടെയാണ് തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലേക്ക് ഒഴുകുന്നത്.

Seva Darshan will be holding a 'Payasam Fest' during the BALA KALA MELA on 16th October 2009 at the Abbasiya Indian Central School. The fest will be held from 1.30 to 2.00 PM. You could prepare the Payasam at home (minimum 2 liters) and bring that to the venue for judgement. The best chef will be presented with a gift......So this is your chance to make others say DIL MANGE MORE............

Seva Darshan Kuwait officially released its raffle coupons for the mega event BHARATH DARSHAN 2010 to be held on 15 January 2010 at the Marina Hall in Abbasiya.
The event will have IDEA star singer fame Somadas, Jins, Prasobh , Amritha Super Star winner Roopa Revathy, cine stars Kottayan Nazir and Kalabhavan Prajod performing along with other personalities from Kuwait.
The programme will support the construction of a school for tribal children in the Marayoor area of Idukki district in Kerala
Seva Darshan Kuwait will hold, BALA KALA MELA 2009, on 16 October 2009 at the Khaitan Indian School. The children of Bala Darshan will showcase their talents and energy at this day long function.
Seva Darshan Kuwait held its general body meeting on 12 September 2009, at the Sopanam hall in Abbasiya.
On October 16th, 2009, BALA KALA MELA 2009 is being organized by the children of Bala Darshan at the KhaitanIndianSchool. The day long event will showcase the energy, knowledge and talent, the children have gained over the years since the inception of Bala Darshan in Kuwait. Various competitions will be held throughout the day.
The executive committee of Seva Darshan is happy to announce that the organization will be undertaking the construction of a residential School for the tribal children in Marayoor, Idukki district, Kerala in the year 2010. This school project is our second endeavor after our successful completion of the Krishnajyothi project in 2008.
We will build a multi-storied new structure for the SriSaraswathyVidyaMandhiramSchool currently existing there. This is an accredited school affiliated to Bhartheeya Vidya Nikethan. The existing school operates from a small makeshift structure and they can accommodate only 40 children and out of that, 10 students are living in the same premises. Due to space constraints, students who can not be accommodated here are studying in a school at Kottayam. The children studying in this school are coming from the tribal villages in and around Marayoor. Often due to bad weather conditions and heavy rainfall, the school authorities are compelled to close the school. Many of these children walk a long distance to reach the school even. Seva Darshan's MarayoorSchool project will ensure uninterrupted and free education for over 200 students with residential facilities for at least 50 children.
To help make the MaryaoorSchool project a success, Seva Darshan Kuwait will hold a mega event in Kuwait, BHARATH DARSHAN 2010, on January 15th, 2010 at the Marina Hall in Abbasiya. In this event, eminent artists from India and Kuwait will put together a grand musical and visual experience. The performing artists from India are Idea Star Singer performers Somadas, Jins Gopinath, Prasob and Amrtiha Superstar Global winner Roopa Revathy. They will be sharing the stage with the comedy duo Kottayam Nazir and Kalabhavan Prajod.
